We have chosen to spell ProMotion with a ‘big’ P and a ‘big’ M to emphasise the original meaning of the word: "For Movement." The purpose of LCS is to make Low Cost Sanitation move.

LCS is officially registered in Sweden in 1989 as a non-profit company. (Registration number SE 5564 240 890 01). Any profits are reinvested in research and development.

Its ideas were based on the Low Cost Sanitation developments from Mozambique and Malawi with the vision to make them available to other countries. LCS promotes low cost technology to make improved sanitation affordable for the lowest income groups. Innovations like the "Two Dollar Latrine" have impressed people world-wide. Equally important is that the SanPlat system can be adapted to a wide range of toilet designs, including more exclusive VIP and pour-flush latrines. LCS believes in the philosophy of "freedom of choice" concerning sanitation also for the poor.

LCS principally sells components, moulds and manuals for SanPlat latrines but can also assist in consultancy support through SBI Consulting.
