Many cultures experience resistance in using human urine for food production. In such cases, urine is better used as a fertilizer in firewood production and decorative gardening.

Traditional solutions for urine separation does not aim at collection and reuse of its fertile value. It still has an advantage in increasing the durability of the latrine and reducing the smell and fly problem.
